An excellent full-time opportunity exists for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our growing national Major Projects team.

Rhomberg Rail Australia (RRA) are market leaders in complex rail maintenance and construction solutions. As the Australian operating division of the Austrian-based Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group (RSRG), RRA are industry specialists backed by European innovation and local expertise.The Narrabri to North Star section of Inland Rail will upgrade 186km of existing rail corridor and construct 2.3km of new track near Moree, New South Wales.

Initially based from our Pymble office, and then in Moree NSW, this role will then transition to a site based role.  The role will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects and tenders necessary to meet the businesses and Major Projects strategic goals, objectives and initiatives. Safe delivery that achieves the agreed project objectives on time, within budget to a high level of quality and customer satisfaction are critically important requirements for this role.



To be successful in this highly autonomous and result driven role you will require the abilities to;
  • Lead and maintain a culture of OH&S and rail safety within this highly regulated market, ensuring all work undertaken is safeOversee all project tasks necessary to ensure satisfactory performance of the project in a safe and timely delivery to budget, quality and technical requirements is achieved
  • Lead the relationship with client representatives and other project stakeholders by recognising their goals, objectives and initiatives and embedding this understanding in the project team to positively influence how they behave and interact
  • Assign and monitor the duties and ongoing performance of your direct reports
  • Prepare accurate and concise project reports, safety and quality documents necessary to demonstrate compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Ensure the construction process is managed in accordance with the relevant international, federal and state based legislation, standards, client specifications and in accordance with the company’s Quality Assurance and Controlling system


  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar project management role, preferably in a rail engineering and construction environment
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree qualifications
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills, problem solving abilities and initiative
  • A high level of computer literacy - use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,  Project and/or other project management software
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, logic and rational thinking under pressure
  • Excellent rail construction experience including delivery and contractual knowledge, experience working on the ARTC network is highly desirable
  • Team player willing to get involved across the business
